Parenthood: to be or not to be?When: Thursday, September 4th, 2008 7:30-9:00pm. Join Betty Wood for a discussion of one of the most challenging and life-changing decisions an individual or couple ever makes: deciding when or if they choose to parent children. The LGBT community may encounter societal challenges that encompass more than the personal choice to parent. During this program participants will explore practical and personal assets along with their deepest dreams and desires that bring them to the point of actively planning to invite a child into their lives. They may choose to parent children through childbirth, adoption, foster parenting, or blended families. Some may choose to become a significant adult in a child's life without becoming a parent. No matter what the choice may be, participants are offered the opportunity to begin consciously exploring their options and working toward a decision which is best for them at this time in their lives. . EXPLORING THE SELF AS PARENT AND PARTNER AS PARENTThis topic lends itself to private sessions with couples and as four class sessions or a two day workshop. Organizations providing parent education may contact Ms. Wood to schedule this event. Future events to be announced. |
Betty Wood's office is located in Virgina Highlands at 898 Briarcliff Rd N.E., Atlanta, GA, 30306 on the northeast corner of Briarcilff Road and Virginia Avenue. |
